Answered

Login Screen Background is not changing even I change it always before I log out. But when I restart the pc, it turns to default again.

As far as I know, there is no straight forward way to achieve this. The tool that can be used for this is LightDM GTK Greeter Settings. But this is not available for Solus.

Another way is manually change the image from background folder. (got from solus forum)

1. Rename your .jpg file to TullamoreGrandCanal.jpg and place it in pictures.
2. Open terminal and run:

 sudo mv /home/your_username/Pictures/TullamoreGrandCanal.jpg /usr/share/backgrounds/solus/

3. Restart and enjoy.

Are you sure you are talking about Lock screen?..  In my test, lock screen background persist even after reboot (I meant, when I lock again after reboot). But login screen cannot be changed by changing lock screen background.

Ah… that is the “Lock screen” of course. True!

So, how can I change the “Login Screen” background? 🙂 Thanks.

For Solus 1.2.1, open terminal and type

sudo gedit /usr/share/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf.d/10_solus_default.conf

Search for the keyword ‘background'(at line number 48) and edit the image location. Then save and reboot.

well, as of date, none of the options provided here works for me (solus 3.99, budgie)

however i noticed there is another package lightdm-settings, updating the image via that (require root) successfully updated the login background for me.
