Desktop icons change size and appearance

Not sure if this is the place, but I’ll try: I have on my desktop a link to a spreadsheet. The icon displays a thumbnail as a preview for the file, and whenever I change the file, the picture changes accordingly.

The problem is that it also changes its size, depending on the content and column size of the last used sheet, thus causing the icon to wiggle around, and I need to put it back in its place to maintain a neat workspace.

A workaround is to set “Show Thumbnails” under Nautilus’ preferences to “Never” to have just a generic LibreOffice icon, but thumbnails are nice to have for pictures etc. That’s not the end of the world, but I think it’s a fair feature request/bug report to have a fixed sized thumbnail or to anchor its position to the text position.

Is this doable? If so, where and how does one submit this kind of request?
