Changing the LightDM login background?

So, I’ve been trying to change the default login background. I’ve ran across posts that say to use LightDM GTK Settings app, however that does not work since slick greeter is used instead of GTK greeter.

I’ve also look it /etc/lightdm and those files had nothing about the background image info in them.

You may find it at ” /usr/share/backgrounds ” … good luck

If you want to change the background you need to make a config file at /etc/lightdm/slick-greeter.conf

Full options can be seen at https://github.com/linuxmint/slick-greeter but to change the background just add the following:

[Greeter]
background=/path/to/background
