The drivers needed are: `cnijfilter-common-mg2400` `cnijfilter-mg2400series` They were provided by the manufacturer on the official site ( http://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer_products/products/fax__multifunctionals/inkjet/pixma_mg_series/pixma_mg2450.aspx?type=drivers&language=EN&os=Linux%20%2864-bit%29). I have them as deb, rpm and sources, but they are still present on the internet. They are present in AUR.   Could I have them available for Solus?

I have created a task to ask for the packages to be created for Solus, here:  https://dev.solus-project.com/T2933

The printer Cannon Pixma MG2450 has drivers included in the package cups-devel.

The package is present in the sources and can be installed in  Software  Center. I have found this with Aaron‘s help under  this discussion:

As for the integrated scanner, Simple Scan was not seeing the scanner the normal way, but only when run as root. That means there was no problem with the drivers.

It was a permissions problem, solved as indicated here: http://asksolus.com/question/scanning-works-only-with-root-privileges/.
