When I double click on any .sh files, it directly open in GEdit. I want to make it run if that file is allowed to execute. Now I have to open terminal and run ./filename.sh all the time

Go to File manager -> Preferences -> Behavior tab. and select the option  “Executable text files”  -> “Ask what to do”. Please refer the image below.

You can also select option “Run them” if you always want it to run

By default, Files open any executable file as text file. On Preferences > Behavior, you need to select Executable Text Files > Run them, and the executable files will always be executed (which probably is not preferable), or Executable Text Files > Ask what to do, and in that case you will always be asked what to do with the executable file.
